All other terrains can be searched repeatedly whenever the tagalong resets it.
During Examining turns, focus primarily on healing. Large Berry Bushes are the optimal choice at medium HP; the [[Barkback]] trap is very rare at an apparent 5%, and Barkbacks are weak against Fire. If you are not very low on health and just want to be topped off, a Small Berry Bush will work fine. If very low on HP, Pink Fruit restores more HP than Large Berry Bush and the [[Demon Weed]] trap isn't guaranteed. If you don't want to take the risk, or none of these options are available, a Snack can be used instead. If your HP is high, taking an item or risking a trap instead of healing will not pose much danger and can be done if you're confident.
When reaching the boss, search the terrain first and then use De-elemental ammo; use Rapid Fire as soon as it becomes available. At high HP, even a newer player with 100 max HP will have decent luck with this setup, with the length of the loop obviously increasing as the player's max HP does. Bad luck with traps, Examining, and terrain can still cause a loop to end prematurely.

Strategy

Vitrevern Loop

The Vitrevern Loop is a looping strategy developed and coined by Keileon, named for the fat that, at the time, Vitreverns were the only available tagalong with a Fire-element attack. Since then, the Lightcatcher has been introduced and will also work for this loop, but are much rarer than Vitreverns.

  • Tagalong: Stoic or Valiant with a Fire-element attack. (Recommended: Vitrevern, Lightcatcher)
  • Equipment: Igniter 1K + Somber Shawl
  • Ammo: De-elemental

The strategy is primarily to focus on healing and let your tagalong do most of the work. Most creatures found in the delve are weak to Fire.

During battle, use only the normal weapon attack against enemies, except for Silver Knuttes and Shadowspewers. Knuttes and Shadowspewers are not weak to Fire, and while the Blue and Green Knuttes still go down relatively quickly, the Silver Knutte has increased defense. Shadowspewers, on the other hand, can do much more damage with their Neutral attack even though their Shadow attack is resisted. Use De-elemental ammo on both of these. All terrains can be searched to good effect; Seating Area only needs to be searched once, as Shield does not seem to wear off. All other terrains can be searched repeatedly whenever the tagalong resets it.

During Examining turns, focus primarily on healing. Large Berry Bushes are the optimal choice at medium HP; the Barkback trap is very rare at an apparent 5%, and Barkbacks are weak against Fire. If you are not very low on health and just want to be topped off, a Small Berry Bush will work fine. If very low on HP, Pink Fruit restores more HP than Large Berry Bush and the Demon Weed trap isn't guaranteed.
